Our Services

  • If you are looking for less of a “relaxing” massage or have a specific sports related injury OR are an athlete looking for very specific work (left knee, right shoulder, pain when doing a certain movement during athletic activity), this is a “get to the point”  approach.

I would also do cupping and scraping, if desired, to help move along the process. It’s not entirely comfortable but it gets the job done. My goal is to make sure what is causing you pain is worked out.

Whether that is through trigger point release, breaking down scar tissue, or working into an inflamed tendon you WILL leave my table feeling better.

If this description resonates with you, I would pick sports style massage when booking.

  • This style of massage will have you feeling light and airy. It is total relaxation, zenning out and going into your zone type of vibe.

The goal with this style of massage is to get your body in as relaxed a state as possible. The technique used is a wave of the hands over long chains of fascia.

I use light medium or deep pressure in the massage with the goal of relaxation in mind.

Know that if more specific work is desired, I will use techniques that will release trigger points and other areas of tension. This may cause discomfort when worked into. This is not the standard for Swedish but each massage is FULLY customizable and different techniques are used throughout every session depending on your needs.

  • This style is deep and will cause discomfort depending on how reactive and sore a muscle is, BUT deep tissue style massage is slower and more gradual than sports massage.

It is used for relaxation while sticking to the MAIN goal; to get to the deep layers of muscle through slow and gradually deeper pressure.

This may cause discomfort but that discomfort will abate as the massage goes on. It is like warming up before working out. The discomfort is telling us something. Working into that discomfort is where the healing action comes into play.

I would also like to point out there is a difference between discomfort and PAIN. Please tell me if something is hurting. I will reassess to better assist you.

Some areas may be sore after this massage but other than cupping and the occasional scraping marks, bruising is rare and usually coincides with other modalities being used or if I am working in a specific problem area for a longer period of time. Sometimes more time is required in an area to gain relief, so soreness may accompany that.

  • Therapeutic massage incorporates techniques of sports massage with a therapeutic and gentle approach.

A therapeutic massage is a type of massage that is used to treat physical and mental ailments. It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that combines manual manipulation of the body’s soft tissues with relaxation techniques to help reduce stress and pain.

This is approach is for people that are recovering from a recent surgery and have scar tissue build up. This style of massage is also used for people with chronic pain or have a specific condition, mental or physical, and need the massage tailored to that.

This massage is recommended for people with “wear and tear” and trauma based injuries such as a car accidents or tendon tear and repair. With these types of injuries a slow and gradual approach is best especially because we are working with the timing of recovery your body needs. Sports massage is more aggressive while this massage works slower to create a relaxed experience as well.

Therapeutic massage can be for people with sports injuries but aids in in relaxation as well as recovery.

This style of massage would also be good for someone working on building strength back in atrophied muscles or someone wanting more range of motion in an area that’s been damaged in the past. I do not work on fresh injuries and will refer out if something is out of my scope of practice.
